🌿 Madan Mohan Ji Mandir Vrindavan | Timings | History | Aarti Schedule

The Madan Mohan Temple is one of the most ancient and revered temples in Vrindavan, perched on a hill near the banks of the Yamuna River. Dedicated to Lord Krishna as Madan Mohan, this temple reflects the early devotional roots of the Gaudiya Vaishnav tradition.

πŸ•‰οΈ Madan Mohan Ji Mandir History

  • The original deity of Madan Mohan was worshipped by Advaita Acharya and later rediscovered and installed by Sanatan Goswami, one of the six Goswamis of Vrindavan.

  • Built in the early 16th century, the temple was patronized by Kapoor Ram Das, a wealthy merchant from Multan.

  • During the Mughal invasions, the original deity was moved to Karakuli village near Jaipur for protection. Today, a replica murti is worshipped in Vrindavan, at the same time as the authentic idol resides in Rajasthan.

  • It’s one of the seven principal temples of Vrindavan, closely tied to Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’s teachings.
